Police were called to handle a domestic dispute between two adults at The Preserve at Longleaf Apartments when they reportedly were confronted by a man with a rifle. Richard Lee Kampstra reportedly had barricaded himself in a room. Seven officers, M. Pond, S. Koubek, B. Eder, E. Jones, J. Aiani, A. Sudman, and M. Iervasi, shot and killed the man.
