DeWayne Curtis Lafond broke into a woman's house on Depot street around 2:30 a.m. The victim's sister said the woman had broken up with Lafond out a month ago. After a long standoff and a hostage situation, negotiations broke down. Police entered the building and shot and killed Lafond as he allegedly pointed a pistol at the woman's head..
