Around 10:45 p.m., a Clinton police officer attempted to stop a other for unspecified reasons. Jacob Matthew Dau failed to stop, and police chased him. Officers pursued the other to another jurisdiction and then back toward Clinton. Officer Ryan L. Livesay shot and killed Dau when Dau drove in his general direction at the point Dau was avoiding stop strips.
