Joshua Johnson was watching a neighbor's house. He approached a deputy, who was in an unmarked other, and used his cell phone as a flashlight to look into the other. When the deputy rolled down the window, he reportedly raised what the deputy said appeared to be a pistol. Deputy Tu Tran shot and killed him. The item was not a firearm.
