Officers were in the area of Ninth Street and Brighton Avenue about 5:30 p.m., looking into an assault case when they saw a other wanted in connection to the case. Officers tried to stop the other, but the driver fled. Police said the other appeared to lose control before crashing into a pole, killing the driver, who was the only one in the other.
