DeMarco Riley was the target of an arrest warrant being served at an apartment around 2:30 p.m. Deputies knocked on the door of the apartment, announcing themselves. Several people inside the home confirmed Riley was upstairs and was asked to leave. Deputies ordered Riley to surrender, but he refused. One deputy U.S. marshal shot and killed Riley, who was unarmed.
