Deadly force
Police were called to Extra Cash Gold & Loan around noon because the business owner did not want the homeless man on the sidewalk near the business. Police arrived, found that Bennie Edwards had a knife, and called for backup. Three officers approached Edwards. Officers allege that he ran at them while carrying a knife. Two of the three officers shot and killed him.
