About 4:35 a.m., a state trooper observed a car traveling 98 mph in a 65 mph zone. The trooper pursued the car to pull it over with the chase surpassing more than 120 mph. The driver attempted to make a U-turn, then slid down an embankment into the median. Two troopers approached the other. The driver allegedly displayed a gun, and police shot and killed him.
