Deadly force
Reginald Johnson was shot and killed and an officer injured after a shooting outside the Harrison County courthouse in Biloxi. Police withheld details as to what precipitated the killing. The Sun Herald learned and reported through public records requests that the shooting happened shortly after Biloxi police got a report of someone, later identified as Johnson, spitting on vehicles in the parking lot of the courthouse on Lameuse Street. The complaint came in at 3:47 p.m. Jan. 15. Within minutes, a Harrison County deputy shot and killed Johnson in the parking lot on the west side of the courthouse.
