Around 1 p.m., a Dothan officer attempted a routine traffic stop on a other due to it not having any tags. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed a firearm in the other, and the driver left the scene before the stop was finished. At least two police chased the car, but when the driver exited the other, he had a handgun. Officers reportedly attempted to use a Taser to incapacitate the suspect who shot an officer in the left leg. The officers shot and killed Doward Sylleen Baker.
