At 6:36 p.m., troopers received a report that someone in Holy Cross had been shot on a boat. Devyn Walker was suspected of shooting and killing 71-year-old Alden Gerald Walker Sr. Walker barricaded himself in a home after the shooting. Officers reportedly tried to negotiate with Walker. He allegedly refused to surrender, and he fired a gun in the direction of the troopers. At least one trooper shot and killed him.
