A black Mercedes SUV allegedly was speeding on I-85 when a Dinwiddie deputy running radar attempted to stop the other. When the deputy lost sight of the SUV on Route 703, he reportedly ended the pursuit, police said. Moments later, the driver of the SUV lost control on the wet pavement, veered off the road, hit a tree and was killed.
