Portland police officer Curtis Brown shot and killed Michael Ray Townsend during a welfare check. Townsend reportedly made the 911 call himself, seeking help for his suicidal ideations. He reportedly also told first responders he had a weapon before police arrived. Townsend allegedly advanced toward Brown with a weapon in his hands before Brown shot and killed him.
