Deadly force
A pursuit regarding a reckless driving call ended after deputies placed spike strips on the highway, and Trooper Stephen (aka Steven) Mayer used his cruiser to push the fleeing other's rear end sideways, sending it into a spin. After the other stopped, Mayer saw that Craig Knutson had a gun and told the three deputies about the weapon before he shot and killed Knutson. Police withheld details as to why Mayer fired.
