Mesa police caught up with the suspect in the robbery of Desert Financial Credit Union in Mesa. Officers told him to get out of the car, but Stephen Phil Franco refused. He reportedly indicated he was armed and exited the other. Police sicced a police dog on him. Franco allegedly lowered his band to his waistband, and officers shot and killed him.
