A Walton village police officer shot and killed Paul J. Weeden while responding to a mental health call around 3:30 a.m. According to police, the officer made contact with Weeden inside the home. While they were speaking, Weeden reportedly pointed what was thought to be a gun at the officer. The officer reportedly ordered Weeden to drop the weapon, and then shot and killed him.
