Deadly force

At 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the Garden Walk Apartments upon reports that a person was parked in the lot and sleeping in his other. When officers ran the plate number, the other came back as stolen. When officers arrived, Gerry Cooper failed to comply with commands and drove off, hitting parked vehicles, including two patrol vehicles. An officer with the Gunnison Police Department allegedly was dragged by his other, and police shot and killed Cooper.
