Taher Mohmmad Zakarna, 20, was a young Palestinian from Qabatia town, south of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank. He worked at a bakery in Qabatia, the same bakery where another young man, Odai Manasra, was abducted by Israeli forces.

Taher lived in Qabatia, a town in the northern West Bank, and was employed at a local bakery. On September 5, 2022, during a large-scale Israeli military invasion into Jenin city and Qabatia town, the Israeli army stormed and ransacked several homes and buildings in the area. Taher was shot by Israeli soldiers during the operation and later died from his injuries. Alongside him, several other Palestinians were injured, and multiple individuals were abducted, including four men in Jenin city and Odai Manasra from the bakery in Qabatia where Taher worked. Palestinian resistance fighters also clashed with Israeli forces during the invasion, exchanging gunfire in several parts of Jenin city. Taher’s death deeply affected his community, which continues to endure ongoing violence and military incursions.

He was shot by Israeli soldiers

Taher Mohmmad Zakarna was shot by Israeli soldiers with three live rounds—one to the head and two to the thigh—during a military raid on Qabatia town. The shooting resulted in severe injuries, and despite being rushed to ar-Razi hospital in Jenin, he died from his wounds. The attack occurred amid a broader military operation involving home invasions, ransacking, and multiple arrests, accompanied by clashes between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli forces.
