Biography
Ahmad Mohammad Hussein Daraghma, 24, was a Palestinian from Tubas in the northeastern occupied West Bank. He was killed by Israeli soldiers on October 8, 2022, during a military invasion in Jenin and its refugee camp. Ahmad was fatally shot in the head and later pronounced dead at the Ibn Sina Specialist Hospital in Jenin.
Born and raised in Tubas, Ahmad Mohammad Hussein Daraghma grew up in a region often subjected to Israeli military operations and settler harassment. As a young man, Ahmad witnessed repeated incursions and violence in nearby towns, experiences that shaped his deep concern for justice and national dignity. He was known among friends and neighbors as a quiet, thoughtful individual with a strong sense of community responsibility.
On October 8, 2022, Ahmad was present in Jenin, a city that had become a recurring target of Israeli military raids. That morning, Israeli forces stormed Jenin and the nearby refugee camp with armored vehicles and military helicopters. The raid quickly escalated into violence, with Israeli troops firing live ammunition, tear gas, and stun grenades at Palestinian residents, protestors, and journalists.
Ahmad was shot in the head amid this violent incursion. Medical teams rushed him to Ibn Sina Specialist Hospital, where doctors attempted to save his life, but his wounds were too severe. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The same invasion also claimed the life of 18-year-old Mahmoud Moayyad Sous and wounded at least eleven other Palestinians—three critically. The Israeli soldiers additionally rammed a father and daughter with a military jeep, injured journalists, and arrested Saleh Abu Zreina after failing to find his brother.
Ahmad’s killing added to the rising death toll in Jenin and across the West Bank that month. It followed the deaths of two other Palestinian teenagers—Adel Daoud, 14, and Mahdi Ladadwa, 17—who were fatally shot just a day earlier.
Ahmad’s death left a deep void in his community. Friends and family mourned a young man whose life was cut short by the ongoing military occupation. His killing underscored the brutal costs of the recurring Israeli incursions into Palestinian population centers, where civilians are too often caught in the line of fire.
Pleas of Surviving Relatives and Family if any

His father, Khaled Daraghmeh, recounted that he had spoken with Ahmad shortly before the incident, urging him to return home. Tragically, moments later, he received news that Ahmad had been shot. Khaled rushed to the hospital in hopes of finding his son alive, only to be informed that Ahmad had already succumbed to his injuries. In his words, "Ahmad was not simply part of my life – he was my entire life."
