Her work gained international recognition, and she was featured in the documentary Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, directed by Sepideh Farsi, which was set to premiere at the Cannes Acid Film Festival in May 2025.
Fatima's passing underscores the urgent need for greater protection of journalists and civilians in conflict areas, as well as accountability for actions that endanger their lives.​
