Biography
Ahmed Abu Mutair was a Palestinian media engineer working at Palestine Media Production (PMP) in the Gaza Strip. He supported international media coverage and was working on productions for the German public broadcaster ZDF. On 19 October 2025, he was killed when an Israeli rocket strike hit PMP’s premises in Deir Al Balah, becoming one of the Palestinian media workers killed during Israel’s war on Gaza.
Ahmed Abu Mutair was an engineer employed by Palestine Media Production (PMP), a local production company that provides technical and logistical support for international media outlets operating in Gaza. His work included engineering and production support for ZDF, Germany’s public broadcaster, contributing to international reporting from the Gaza Strip.
At the time of his death, Ahmed was working inside PMP’s facilities in Deir Al Balah, in central Gaza. Media infrastructure and journalists had repeatedly been targeted during the war, despite their civilian status. Ahmed’s killing highlighted the dangers faced not only by reporters but also by the behind-the-scenes professionals—engineers, technicians, and production staff—who enable news coverage from conflict zones.
