On 10 August 2025, Mohammad Qraiqea was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the media tent near Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, where he and several other journalists were working. The Israeli military later stated that the intended target of the strike was Al Jazeera reporter Anas al-Sharif, one of Qraiqea’s close colleagues. The strike killed six media workers, making it one of the deadliest attacks on journalists since the start of the war.

Mohammad Qraiqea, born on 15 March 1992, was a dedicated Palestinian journalist who worked for Al Jazeera, known for his courageous reporting from Gaza. Having lost his father at the age of six, he was raised by his mother, who was his only close relative and emotional anchor.
