On May 13, 2021, Israeli fighter jets bombed his family’s home in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, as part of a large-scale, all-night bombardment targeting civilian neighborhoods, homes, and residential towers across the Strip. Mohammad was killed instantly alongside his three daughters—aged 18, 22, and 24—one of whom was six months pregnant. The airstrike destroyed their home entirely, while also demolishing three neighboring houses that had been sheltering 91 civilians. At least 27 other civilians were injured, including women and children. Mohammad’s death was part of a devastating series of strikes that killed at least 36 Palestinians that night.

Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Amen was a 51-year-old father from Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. On May 13, 2021, he was killed alongside his three daughters—aged 18, 22, and 24, one of them pregnant—when Israeli missiles struck their family home during one of the deadliest nights of bombardment on Gaza. A civilian with no involvement in the fighting, Mohammad’s life was cut short in the very place he should have been safest: his own home. His death, together with that of his daughters, reflects the devastating toll of the May 2021 assault on Gaza, in which entire families were wiped out in seconds.

Born and raised in Gaza, Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Amen lived his 51 years under the hardships of blockade, war, and economic strain that have defined life for generations in the coastal enclave. Despite these challenges, he built a family and raised three daughters in Beit Lahia, where his home was both a shelter and a center of family life. On May 13, 2021, Israeli warplanes targeted residential areas in northern Gaza without warning. His house, along with neighboring homes, was reduced to rubble in seconds. Mohammad was killed instantly, together with his three daughters—young women aged 18, 22, and 24. One of his daughters, just six months pregnant, died with her unborn child.
