On May 13, 2021, Israeli warplanes bombed her family’s home in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, during a night of continuous airstrikes. The attack directly hit her house, killing Warda along with her two sisters and their father. The bombardment destroyed three homes that were sheltering 91 civilians, injured 27 others—including 6 women and 10 children—and caused widespread destruction to nearby homes.
